Dear Friends,
I want to share some new developments in my personal life and at Walworth Medical Associates. I'll start with my news. On September 1, I am retiring. Some of you are already aware of this news, but to others it will come as a surprise, so please let me share my reasons. My life is taking a different direction. With my grown children now living a good distance away and my parents spending most of their time in Florida, I want to have more unscheduled time to travel and visit with them. My family relationships are ever so important to me. Until recently, I could share my love of medicine and my love of family in the same city. Moving forward, to spend significant time with my family, I would need to take more time away from my patients and the practice. To be fair to everyone, I made the decision that it is best to retire.
This has been a very difficult decision for me. I have gotten to know many of you on both a professional and personal level. You have entrusted me with your health, but many of you have also trusted me with your stories, your secrets and even the care of your other family members. For that I am humbled and honored. I have enjoyed getting to know each and every one of you, some who have been with me for the over 29 years that I have been with our practice.
I promise that I am leaving you in excellent hands. My wonderful partner of 28 years, Dr. Matt D'Onofrio, as well as our incredibly skilled and astute nurse practitioner, Kimberly Beck, will continue to be available on a full-time basis. Our spunky and charming Dr. Tiffany Helman will continue to provide her professional and compassionate care on a part-time basis. And I am so pleased to announce the arrival of our newest physician, Dr. Anthony D'Onofrio! He trained in family practice in the Allegheny Health Network and completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Alabama. He also happens to be the nephew of our Dr. Matt! We are excited about the whole new dimension that he will bring to our practice.
My dear patients, thank you for an amazing 29 years! I will truly miss you! You have enriched MY life in so many ways. You will be in my prayers daily. I wish you health, happiness and prosperity in the coming years!
